Artist Residency

We give you a peaceful place located not too far from airport, train station & bus stop. Nested in a quiet residential area in a small town called Kannur in Kerala, one can relax and work at their pace in this beautiful location. Residents can stay and work in a peaceful atmosphere away from their usual environment, routines and accustomed distractions. Artists are encouraged to collaborate and experiment to broadens everyone’s experiences and fosters art appreciation.

Moonware Creative Expressions Artist Residency's hosts artists during the month of January, February, September, October & November each year, with accommodations available for up to 2 residents at one time and only if both artists are comfortable sharing space. Groups of artist alreadyu working together can also apply.

Artists of all disciplines, working in any media are welcome to apply. Researchers, curators, musicians and art critics are also welcome to apply.

Open to emerging and established artists equally.

Booking Process

Application criteria

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, artists will be selected subject to motivation, work sample and availability.

If accepted

Applicants will be notified by email. A non-refundable deposit of 3000 INR will be required to book the applicant’s spot.
An official invitation letter can be sent upon request by the applicant.

Artist responsible for

12500 INR Residency fee per month (excluding deposit of 3000)
Keeping given premises clean
Removing all artwork and all belongings from premises before they leave.

Travel and medical insurance
Artists are responsible for travel, visa, materials, entertainment, food costs, and insurance.
Artists should arrange his/hers own insurance to cover any possible accident, loss or damage (including but not limited to health insurance and general liability insurance) during their stay in India.
Moonware Creative Expressions will not be liable for any loss, theft or damage and provides no insurance covering any work, equipment or materials belonging to any user.
